Does anyone else besides me think that Sugar should incorporate some kind of buying/selling/swapping function on this site in the same vein as Craigslist or eBay? I think it would be a terrific idea, as I'm sure lots of us out there (especially since I'm assuming the majority of members on this site are female) have either new or used items that could definitely use a new home. For example, I have a never been used Wilson's leather bag and Coach clutch I can't seem to get rid of and I'd feel so much happier selling/swapping it with someone on Sugar than elsewhere. I got this idea because my alma mater used to have this terrific message board where we used to buy and sell stuff on campus and it worked out SO well!!! It was called CollegeForSale and it would be great if we had a SugarForSale or something similar on here (kind of like the Marketplace on Facebook). Just an idea while I was daydreaming
Now who's with me???
Buy/Sell/Trade Sugar = SugarList?
I think we need a CarSugar!
Like a sugar page with info on new (and old) cars, what to do when it's -30*C, how to change a tire, what different noises mean...
Yes, I totally agree with you, DesignRChic - I haven't worked out the logistics in my head (obviously, since it's not my job, haha! and I don't really know how these things work) but I was really just thinking aloud. Another plus is that a lot of women on this site, I think, discover that they have a lot of things in common with each other - one of which is their location. So, how great would it be if you actually found someone who lived either a town/city near you and you wanted to swap/buy/sell something with them? Ooh CarSugar would be useful ... it could go under an even bigger umbrella, though I have a feeling, like how to fix things, etc. hehe!
I think it's a good idea but anytime you mix business with pleasure there are bound to be issues. I just worry some people might end up being unhappy after the swap and then there may be conflicts. Otherwise, I would love swapping things with other fashionistas on here!
Romaniagrl took the words right out of my mouth with her concerns about mixing business with pleasure and the conflicts that are bound to arise. This is a really pleasant environment for the most part, and I'd be afraid of what could happen if selling/trading things comes into the mix.
I think trading/swapping would be a great feature. Sometimes you have things you want to give to another person who wants it (instead of donating to charity). I think if money were left out, fewer conflicts would arise. There would have to be rules about describing the condition of the item honestly and accurately, though.
I think it is a great idea, and think that if there were some rules in place... it could work....
I like the idea a lot especially because we're such a large network of mostly women. But something of that nature's a whole other animal. The sugars would have to literally create a business within their business to monitor something like this. Who knows, maybe some day?
